OnePlus Launches Ace 5 Ultra and Ace 5 Racing Edition in China: Could India See a Nord 5 Rebrand?

While all eyes are on the upcoming launch of the OnePlus 13s, OnePlus has quietly expanded its portfolio in China by introducing two new 5G smartphones—OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition. These devices bring premium specifications and powerful MediaTek chipsets to the table, and rumors suggest that one of them may be rebranded and launched in India as the OnePlus Nord 5.

OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and Racing Edition: Pricing and Availability

The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is the more affordable option in the duo. It starts at CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs 21,300) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, and goes up to CNY 2,499 (around Rs 29,600) for the top-end 16GB + 512GB variant.

On the other hand, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra targets premium users with prices beginning at CNY 2,499 (about Rs 29,600) for the 12GB + 256GB variant and reaching CNY 3,799 (roughly Rs 45,000) for the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage configuration.

Both phones are now available for sale in China. Although there’s no official word on a global or Indian launch, multiple leaks indicate that one of these devices may debut in India under the Nord branding.

OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra: Premium Powerhouse

The Ace 5 Ultra is designed for users seeking top-tier performance and display quality. It features a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, variable refresh rate up to 144Hz, and peak brightness of 1,400 nits. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

On the imaging front, it houses a 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and supports 4K 60fps video recording. The front camera is a 16MP shooter.

Running on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, the Ace 5 Ultra comes with a 6,700mAh battery and 100W fast charging. Other notable features include in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and Wi-Fi 7 support.

OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition: Budget-Friendly Performance

While it sits below the Ultra, the Racing Edition still packs impressive hardware. It features a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,300 nits brightness. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e, supported by up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Camera hardware includes a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP monochrome lens, with support for 4K 60fps recording. The selfie camera is the same 16MP unit found on the Ultra model.

One of the Racing Edition’s standout features is its 7,100mAh battery—the largest ever in a OnePlus device—paired with 80W fast charging. It runs ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, and includes modern features like Wi-Fi 7, stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

What to Expect in India

Although OnePlus has not officially confirmed the international or Indian debut of the Ace 5 lineup, industry speculation is strong that one of these models—most likely the Racing Edition—could launch in India as the OnePlus Nord 5. If true, this would offer Indian consumers a value-packed device with flagship-like features at a competitive price point.
